How To Make Mangalorean Fish Fry At Home

1. Ingredients 

Fresh fish, red chili powder, turmeric, tamarind paste, ginger-garlic paste, rice flour, curry leaves, salt, and frying oil.

2. Gather ingredient 

clean fish. Mix chili powder, turmeric, tamarind, ginger-garlic, salt for marinade. Coat fish, marinate 30 mins for flavor infusion.

3. Prepare Rice Flour Coating 

In a separate bowl, mix rice flour with a pinch of salt. This will be used to coat the marinated fish, giving it a crispy texture when fried.

4. Heat Oil 

Heat oil in a deep pan or a frying pan. Make sure it's hot enough for frying but not smoking.

5. Coat the Fish 

Take each piece of marinated fish and coat it evenly with the rice flour mixture. Shake off any excess flour.

6. Fry the Fish 

Carefully place the coated fish pieces into the hot oil. Fry them until they turn golden brown on both sides. Ensure the fish is cooked through, and the coating is crispy.

7. Add Curry Leaves 

In the last few minutes of frying, add fresh curry leaves to the hot oil. This will infuse the oil with a delightful aroma.

8. Serve Hot 

Once the fish is fried to perfection, remove it from the oil and place it on absorbent paper to drain excess oil. Serve the Mangalorean Fish Fry hot with a wedge of lemon and your favorite chutney or sauce.
